As from more than 50 years, CARMAHE has been supporting the machine tool and capital goods sector with its growth, seeking to be included as leaders of the productive industry international concert.
For such purpose, our Chamber associates decided to change its name last 25th of August, at an extraordinary general meeting. As a result, its name was changed from ‘machine tools, capital goods and services for production’ to ‘machine tools and technologies for production’.
Such amend has been based on the need to be actors in a global world that moves constantly regarding technological upgrading applied to productive industries.
Our great colleague associations of the world are at similar processes. AMT (formerly known as the American Machine Tool Association) is now the Association for Manufacturing Technology. The same has happened with UCIMU, from Italy among others. It has changed from been named ‘Association of Manufacturers of Machine Tools’ to UCIMU – Sistemi per Produrre.
This change is a new proof that our sector is in steady movement and dramatic technological change, which should be interpreted and reformulated by both the private and the public sectors of our country. Understanding the integration level required by international technologies and the conditions that need to be implemented to access such technologies so as to generate optimization and growth opportunities for local productive processes is necessary.
Today, Argentina is part of the Group of 20 countries with technical and operative capabilities to manufacture Machine Tools. Our country and Brazil are the only Latin American members of such group. CARMAHE continues strengthening this achievement by means of concrete actions that can be traced to its name change:
- Technical training and upgrading. IV Congress on Manufacturing Engineering (from September 22nd – 24th, in Córdoba) creating opportunities for technical training and upgrading which are essential to this process of technological tailoring.
- Trade missions abroad. In September, representatives from CARMAHE will be present at EMO - Hannover, Germany. This is the most important trade fair of our sector globally, recognized as a meeting point for suppliers and users of the highest competence. The Argentinean sector will be represented by CARMAHE with an institutional stand supplied by the organizers of such event.
- FIMAQH 2012. CARMAHE carries on with the organization of the next edition of FIMAQH (May 2012 at Costa Salguero - Buenos Aires). This trade fair will make room possible to gather every technology in the same place, turning itself into matchless regional showcase.
We are sure this is the way: interchange, concurrence and facing new challenges to generate real and authentic growth for our industries.
